General Terms & Conditions
To ensure a pleasant stay, the following terms and conditions apply. By making a reservation and/or staying at our hotel, you agree to these general terms and conditions.
1. Cancellation Policy
Standard Rate
Reservations made with a Standard Rate can be cancelled or modified free of charge up to 2 days prior to arrival.
The arrival date starts at 00:00 (midnight).
At the time of booking, you may choose between:
- advance payment, or
- a credit card guarantee.
If a reservation is guaranteed with a credit card, Hotel Grand Canal may perform a pre-authorization to verify the validity of the card. The duration of this authorization depends on the credit card provider. The amount will be released by us immediately after verification.
If the reservation is not cancelled in time, the full cost of the stay will be charged.
Different conditions apply to group reservations (see below).
Non-refundable Rate
Reservations made with a non-refundable rate cannot be modified or cancelled.
Advance payment is mandatory and refunds are not possible under any circumstances.
By making this reservation, you agree to the non-refundable nature of this rate.
Packages – Standard Rate
Packages can be cancelled or modified free of charge up to 5 days prior to arrival, unless stated otherwise in the booking confirmation.
The exact conditions are always specified in the reservation confirmation.
Standard Rate with Special Discount Codes
Reservations made with special discount codes are subject to adjusted cancellation conditions.
These reservations can be cancelled free of charge up to 3 days prior to arrival.
The applicable conditions are stated in the booking confirmation.
Cancellation Policy for Extras
Extras booked in combination with a Standard Rate can be cancelled free of charge up to 2 days prior to arrival.
Custom-made products or specially assembled packages cannot be cancelled once confirmed.
Extras booked in combination with a non-refundable rate are subject to the same conditions as the reservation and cannot be cancelled free of charge.
No-show
In the event of a no-show, the full reservation amount will always be charged.
2. Group Reservations (from 4 rooms)
4 to 6 rooms
- up to 4 weeks prior to arrival: no charge
- 2–4 weeks prior to arrival: 50%
- 1–2 weeks prior to arrival: 70%
- 7 days or less: 100%
7 to 9 rooms
- up to 6 weeks prior to arrival: no charge
- 3–6 weeks prior to arrival: 50%
- 2–3 weeks prior to arrival: 70%
- 2 weeks or less: 100%
For reservations of 10 rooms or more, the Uniform Conditions for the Hospitality Industry (UVH) apply and additional conditions may apply.
3. Deposit and Stay
Hotel Grand Canal reserves the right to request a deposit upon arrival.
The deposit may be partially or fully withheld in the event of damage, violation of the house rules, or exceptional soiling of the room.
Late Check-out
The standard check-out time is no later than 11:00, unless otherwise agreed in writing. If the guest remains in the room after 11:00 or leaves personal belongings in the room without a previously agreed late check-out, Hotel Grand Canal reserves the right to clear the room to allow for cleaning and the arrival of new guests.
In such cases, a member of the management team will carefully collect and temporarily store any personal belongings found. Hotel Grand Canal accepts no liability for loss, damage, or disappearance of these items.
Any additional costs resulting from a late check-out may be partially or fully charged and/or deducted from the deposit.
4. Smoking
Hotel Grand Canal is a completely smoke-free hotel.
Smoking, including smoking out of windows, is not permitted anywhere in the hotel or guest rooms.
In case of violation, a cleaning fee of €175 will be charged.
If smoking triggers the fire alarm, any costs charged by the fire department will be fully passed on to the guest.
5. Incorrect Prices
Obvious errors or mistakes in prices, packages, or offers do not bind Hotel Grand Canal.
In the event of an incorrect price, Hotel Grand Canal reserves the right to cancel or correct the reservation.
6. Liability
Hotel Grand Canal is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to guests’ personal belongings.
The hotel, its owner, and employees cannot be held liable for injury or damage incurred during the stay, unless caused by intent or gross negligence.
7. Force Majeure
Hotel Grand Canal accepts no liability and offers no compensation if we are unable to provide our services as agreed due to circumstances beyond our control.
Force majeure includes, but is not limited to:
- natural disasters (such as fire, flooding, storms, or earthquakes)
- war, terrorism, riots, or strikes
- disruption or cancellation of public transport
- pandemics, epidemics, or health crises
- government measures or travel restrictions
- labor disputes
- fire, explosions, or technical failures
- power, water, or internet outages beyond our control
- adverse weather conditions
- other exceptional and unforeseen circumstances beyond our control
In the event of force majeure, Hotel Grand Canal will consult with the guest to seek a suitable solution.
Hotel Grand Canal is in no event liable for consequential damage, indirect damage, or any form of compensation resulting from force majeure.
8. Applicable Law
All reservations and agreements are also subject to the Uniform Conditions for the Hospitality Industry (UVH), insofar as these do not deviate from the terms and conditions of Hotel Grand Canal.
In the event of a conflict, the terms and conditions of Hotel Grand Canal shall prevail.
The UVH can be consulted via the website of Koninklijke Horeca Nederland or are available upon request at the reception.
9. Final Provision
In situations not covered by these terms and conditions, the management of Hotel Grand Canal Delft shall decide.
Failure to comply with these terms and conditions entitles the hotel to terminate the reservation immediately without refund.
